Halloween PJ Party

There's one thing for certain, I'm a HUGE fan of holidays, PJ's and outfits. Wyatt is a good sport and let's me enjoy this way too much. Jason gripes a little, but knows there will be no stopping my love affair with the holidays!
Remember when we visited the pumpkin patch a couple weeks ago, complete with the monogrammed frankenstein shirt. We picked up a Pumpkin to attend a friend's pumpkin carving party. It was so much fun! Wyatt wore his Halloween Jammies for the occasion and what better way to share than joining in the Halloween PJ Party Link up

Weekend Happenings

This weekend was by far our most adventurous since Wyatt's been here. On Friday, the minute work was we headed out to Jacksonville to see Garth Brooks in concert. Jason's sister was so kind to watch Wyatt for us (and text us a picture almost every hour or so).
Our seats for this concert were AMAZING. When tickets went on sale, I tried so hard to get decent tickets and we wound up with okay ones for the concert on October 10th. About an hour after we purchased them, I was talking with a friend and she mentioned he opened up 3 more dates. I quickly tried for October 17th and within seconds Ticketmaster offered me tickets in the 9th row. Thank you, Ticketmaster..I'll take 'em. The seats were dead center, so we had a fantastic view of the whole stage.
Which was especially delightful when Garth broke out "Friends in Low Places"

Seeing "Friends in Low Places" live = amazing!
After the concert, we drove the 2 hours home. Which actually ended up taking us almost 3 hours, since it took forever to get out of the parking garage and I missed the interstate FOUR times. Unfortunately, that's not an exaggeration.

We were slow to get moving on Saturday and Wyatt wasn't hating the slow life. After breakfast (for him), we took a small nap on the couch and then headed out to enjoy the slightly cooler weather. We visited a local pumpkin patch so I could get some pictures

...and pick up a pumpkin for Steph's carving party!

On Sunday, we headed over to my mom's house in New Smyrna Beach so Wyatt could meet Uncle John-John. We were just too happy that he's home and we forgot to take a single picture. Next time!

Five on Friday

I haven't done this linkup in a while, so I figured today being my last full day on Maternity leave, would be a great week of reflection.

one.
You already know the first one is about Wyatt. I can't believe that he's over a month old and how much he's GROWN in that month.

Newborn Picture:

Month old Picture:

two.
I'm excited this weekend is packed with things to do, I've been cooped up in this house for far too long. Tonight I'm going to a Stella and Dot party...at first, I'm not going to lie, I didn't want to go in the least. I have nothing that fits me, I feel frumpy and the whole feed/pump every 2 to 3 hrs thing has me on a tight leash from home. Jason begged me to go and I finally gave in.

Tomorrow we're going to visit my cousins in town from AZ and Sunday we're going to a work picnic for my MIL. Family, Fun and outside - three things I'm craving!
three.
Speaking of nothing that fits me...I need some new clothes ASAP. Luckily we're coming into fall so I'm able to buy a few new pieces. I FINALLY purchased the blanket scarf - Jason thought I was legit crazy when I pulled it out....side note, does ANYONE know how to tie the dang thing?
via
and I'm dying for an oversized sweater. I have my eyes set on this one:
via
I'm just stumped on what size to get.
four.
As I mentioned, my full Maternity Leave is coming to an end on Monday. Cue tears!
I'll still be working from home for 4 weeks, but gone are the days of lounging on the couch with a sleeping baby on my chest all day errr day.  Wyatt and I have been doing our "dress rehearsals" this week, aka getting on a schedule and sticking to it...So far so good, he is napping like a pro. And Me? Well...I've been using his nap times for productivity vs gossip tv. I think we can totally do this!

five.
Last but not least, you guys...NEXT WEEK, We'll be fulfilling a bucket list item and seeing this gentleman from the 9th row
Can't WAIT!!

Welcoming Wyatt

Throughout my pregnancy there were talks of C-section, Wyatt was measuring in the 90th percentile and my doctor just advised me that our safest route might be C-section. We kept our options open, but decided to have a ultrasound at 38 weeks (August 29th) to check on his size before making a decision.

That week I came down with a cold. Nothing too crazy, but enough to keep me up at night and away from work. We went into our 38th week appointment in the mindset that if he was measuring over 8 1/2 lbs, we would go C-section. Figuring my doctor likes to schedule them on the 39th week, we were thinking we would have a baby somewhere around September 10th if we went that route.

During the ultrasound it was discovered that my fluids were low (presumably from that stupid cold) and Wyatt was measuring 9.13 lbs....well above our deciding factor number. This was a friday before Labor day weekend and my doctor didn't want to take anything lightly. Her plan...We'd go to the hospital the following day for another fluid check, if was low again we would have Wyatt right then and there (this is about the point I stopped listening and started freaking out), if Fluids were staying put we would go in for our C-section the following Wednesday. OH.MY.WORD.

It's crazy to me that you plan for the delivery for 10 months, but somehow you're still so unprepared when it happens. Saturday morning, Jason and I headed into the Hospital for a fluid check. Much to our delight, everything was okay. Which meant one thing, Wednesday September 3rd was our day!

On Wednesday we had to be at the hospital at 11am, I was instructed to fast (no food or water) for 12 hrs prior. We went in, they hooked me up to a few monitors and then Wyatt up to a fetal monitor. Everything was still looking great. Apparently I was having fairly strong contractions about 3 minutes apart, the doctor was shocked that I wasn't feeling them. After about 45 minutes, the Anesthesiologist came in to go over his portion and get me hooked up to a epidural catheter. He first gave me a numbing shot and then the epidural. Pretty pain free.

It took about another 30-45 minutes for the medicine to completely kick in. I couldn't feel anything from my rib cage down to my toes. Once it was all set-up, they wheeled us into an OR. This was right around 1:50pm.

Jason was on my left side and a lovely nurse with the most calming voice was on my right, she was letting me know what was going on the whole time.

Wyatt was born at 2:02pm, Weighing 10.2 lbs and measuring 21 inches long.

As soon as they took him out, they brought Jason to watch him being cleaned off and measured. This is also the point that Jason's and I's marriage got real (as in he saw my intestines, poor guy!)After Wyatt was weighed, they brought him over to me and I was able to hold him for a bit.

They wheeled him out with Jason to head on over to the Recovery room while they finished me up. Jason was able to swing by and introduce Wyatt to his Mimi, Grandma and Aunt.

We were in Recovery room for about 2 hours, I was able to do skin to skin with Wyatt pretty much the whole time. As soon as I regained feeling in my legs they moved us up to our room. Our stay at Winnie Palmer was wonderful (except for one minor glitch during a shift change).

Since we've been home Wyatt, Jason, Bailey and I have been figuring out this whole new life. Teamwork takes on a whole new meaning with a child. Jason and I are now able to function off 5 hours of sleep, Bailey has learned to be gentle and he's so protective...and Wyatt, well he's doing a good job at letting us know what he needs. He's sleeping in our room in his Rock N' Play for the time-being - Jason and I need to make the big transition to his room/his crib soon. (#icant)

He'll be a month old on Friday and I feel like we need a big celebration to mark making it the first month.

Truly Radiant

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I came home one day to a little Truly Radiant package.
Is it just me or do you also get overly excited about new products like these? I love that I got to try the trifecta: Spin Brush, Toothpaste and Whitening Booster
Not only are these products from a highly trusted brand (Hello, Arm & Hammer) and come in cute packaging, they also have several key benefits. Things that I tend to look for when trying out new products, like:

Toothpaste:
Removes 100 percent more surface stains than oridnary toothpaste (this is huge for an ex-coffee/coca-cola addict, like myself)
Smoothes surface imperfections while restoring shine
Only paste with baking sode, peroxide and active calcium
Fluoride anticavity toothpaste for cleaning, whitening and enamel strenghtening

Toothbrush:
Removes 100% more plaque than a manual toothbrush. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT

Whitening Booster:
Clincially proven to whiten teeth in just one week and contains 3x more whitening agent than a leading white strip

Do you have any tips to bring out your inner radiance? With Wyatt coming "any day now", I definitely need to make sure I'm picture-ready at any given time. :)

Bumpdate: 36 Weeks

Two things about today's bumpdate:
1. It was supposed to happen on Monday, my bad
2. Just SO happens I'm wearing the same dress from 32 weeks. Not surprising though, I'm down to
a few items that still fit me (I only purchased a few maternity items) Thank GOODNESS for accessories.

How far along:
36 weeks!! 9 months...home stretch!
Baby Size:
Wyatt is the size of a HoneyDew Melon!
Weight gain:
40...Oh my word, can't believe I'm admitting that.
Maternity clothes:
Yup, I'm still rockin' them.
Stretch marks:
Ugh, #Ican't with these. I'm just praying they'll go away after birth.
Sleep:
Seriously, the cruelest trick in the world is the fact that I can't sleep a month before I'm "about to never sleep again for the rest of my life"- so says the people
Best moment this week:
Our Maternity Photos are back. LOVING them!!
Looking forward to:
Is it weird that I'm looking forward to my doctor appointments? I like the weekly check up on us, however I hate how much time they take.  Side note: NOT looking for my mom leaving for a whole two weeks...she comes back 6 days before my due date. Cue anxiety ridden weeks ahead.
What I miss:
Walking without pain, true life! Also, I miss having options to wear in the morning. I can't wait to fit back into normal clothes.
Movement:
Yup, Wyatt thinks this stomach of mine is a punching bag.
Food cravings:
Not so much food cravings, but I can't get enough of ICE. Seriously purchased a 10lb bag of Sonic crushed ice the other day, it was glorious
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope
Gender:
A boy!
Labor Signs:
Nope.
Symptoms:
Braxton Hicks, just a few and Swollen feet - the joys!
Belly Button in or out? It's 100% flat at this point.
Wedding rings on or off? Still able to put them on and get them off. Woohoo
Mood:
Honestly scared. My friends just had their twins today, which means...we're next. Also the realization that this could be my last "bumpdate"
Nursery:
Is finally done!!! We're ready for you Wyatt

Unique Baby Shower Gifts

I thought I'd share with you a couple of the unique gifts I received, they were both so thoughtful and so creative, I guarantee any Mom-to-be will love it. I might goes as far as guaranteeing tears and laughter for both :)

The first is an adorable box (which Christina filled to the brim with adorable clothes for Mr. Wyatt), but it's a keepsake box.
The box also fits perfectly into Wyatt's room.
Inside the box is this poem:
Which says:

The Love You Save
An empty box, what can it be?
I thought it was a gift for me.
Although this box is not what it seems,
It's empty now-- but oh the dreams.
Little Wyatt will soon arrive,
To begin his life with wonder and strive.
He'll learn to walk, heel to toe,
His baby shoes He'll soon outgrow
His baby teeth so white and new
You must save them all, for him and you.
And as he grows, things he'll leave behind.
Cherished things that you will find.
A lock of Hair, A Teddy Bear
These precious items you cannot spare.
So here's an Empty Box for you;
To keep these things his whole life through,
And when he is all grown up and gone,
Your Memory Box will carry one.
The Love you saved at last complete;
All the memories, some sad, some sweet,
Will stay close to a Mother's heart....
As your little Wyatt was right from the start.

Tears, right? It was so incredibly thoughtful of Christina.

The next gift was this perfectly packed green container:
Among some of the most needed baby supplies, Ali and Amanda put together one of the cutest gifts I've ever seen. AND it involves wine...win/win.

It included this perfect hand-made sign for Wyatt that I had pinned a while back (I told you these girls were creative)

Now on to the wine:

For you to recreate, here's what each one said:

First Baby:
As Wyatt arrives to share your life,
Makes you now parents, not only husband and wife.
You're filled with excitement and overflowing with love,
Time to enjoy that glass of wine you're been deprived of.
So take your first sip, after months of prohibition,
And cheers to your family and that new little addition.

First Parent's Night Out:
You're a bit overwhelmed and deserve a night out,
Time together is needed beyond any doubt.
It will always feel like date night is much overdue,
And making time for each other will be hard for both of you.
So let this wine kick off the night, and as you prepare to leave,
Remember to was all that spit-up off your sleeve!

First Married Moment:
There comes a time when boundaries are blurred,
Privacy lost, alone time disturbed.
What's mine is yours and yours is ours,
Including toothbrushes, razors, and occasional showers.
The moment will come and you'll stop and think,
Is that really my spouse? I've only just blinked!
Regardless what happens, if you smile or curse,
Remember these words, "For better or worse!"

First Road Trip:
As you prepare for your journey you'll certainly think,
How much more can we pack; maybe we should rethink!
But it is worth the effort as you hit the road.
And then finally arrive- a drink you're both owed.
Your first trip with Wyatt is a reason to cheer,
So pop this bottle of wine and grab Jason a beer!

First Diaper Explosion:
The moment Wyatt stops smelling so pure and sweet,
You find a dirty diaper exploding at your feet.
But with a loving cuddle and their beautiful smile,
Make the joys of parenthood certainly worthwhile.
Drink this wine and look forward to counting sheep instead,
And make Jason change it while you get back to bed.

First Hanky Panky Kick-off:
Changes have happened, that is certainly true,
But you're feeling recovered, a women anew.
What happens next might certainly be fast...
But you have to remember, much time has passed!
This bottle of wine might help just a bit,
To get things going, lickety split!

I throughly enjoyed these gifts and will keep them in mind for the next showers I attend.

Ahoy, It's a Boy

Last weekend, two amazing, creative, sweet, perfect and did I mention, AMAZING, friends (Kelsey and Steph) hosted a shower of a lifetime for Wyatt and me.

I was blown away by all the effort they put into it, and seriously overwhelmed with joy to see everyone that attended. Kelsey and Steph know how to throw a party....and even more so, they know how to make a Mom-to-be happy.

How's that you ask? Well it's simple...make sure her favorite cravings are in stock. There were mini-BLT sandwiches, More Watermelon than I could ever ask for, an Ice-cream bar complete with my go-to toppings and ice-cream ala Menchies style, Caprese Skewers, Chicken Salad (so good!) and Goldfish. I was a Happy Camper!

And the cake, it was the star of the show.

I'll let the pictures do the talking from here:
Steph and Kelsey

My mom, with my two neighborhood Moms from growing up!

Grandma rubbing my belly for good luck

Capturing that time I got really, uncontrollably excited about a Diaper Pail

And then excited  about something I've been told is a life-saver.

There were two really unique gifts that I'll go into more detail tomorrow

And then Jason surprised us all with his soft-side. He picked up a gift for Wyatt...filled with clothes and the sweetest promise letter I've ever read. I couldn't get through the first sentence without tears.
I assure you it wasn't just Pregnancy Emotions, I looked up after reading and Jason somehow managed to get every single person in that room to tears.
That man of mine is a good one! So #Blessed!

Here's a few more pictures to sum up the amazing time I had:
