Bumpdate: 28 Weeks

How far along:
28 weeks!!
Baby Size:
Baby is the size of a eggplant
Weight gain:
Oy. I shuttered when I saw this week's picture -  I think I'm 22lbs up.
Maternity clothes:
Absolutely. Maternity clothes, Maxi's and Sundresses are my life.
Stretch marks:
I haven't seen any
Sleep:
For the most part, pretty good. WISHING I could sleep on my stomach.
Best moment this week:
Jason finally felt Wyatt kick :). Other than that, we had the Florida Country Superfest and  Jimmy Fallon this past week and they were both so much fun. Exhausting...but fun!
Looking forward to:
Our Babymoon is this weekend. Just have to go to my glucose appointment and then we can hit the road.
What I miss:
I miss getting out of bed easily. It's like an olympic event every time I need to get out of it.
Movement:
A bunch.
Food cravings:
Still on my BLT kick.
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope
Gender:
BOY!
Labor Signs:
Nope! I'll leave this one towards the end of the surveys
Symptoms:
Hmm. not really.
Belly Button in or out? Technically in, but it's about 95% flat
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood:
Is "huge" a mood. Cause that's how I feel. And then I just love the people that comment on my size. I'm also getting anxious. This florida heat is going to get to me these next few months - I think I'm done with outdoor activities that don't involve a body of water.
Nursery:
We picked up the recliner - Eeeeek! Just waiting on the paint to be done and then we can put everything in there!

Life Lessons

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of New York Life for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Well, this could definitely be the pregnancy hormones, but I recently saw this beautiful video about a Stay-at-Home Super Dad.

It's a tear-jerker, right? What a dad! I love this New York Life initiative - they are showcasing the good through a digital billboard which shows real-time moments of family good around Father's Day. Which by the way is this weekend!! To get involved upload photos of you and your dad or share tweets with something you've learned from him. There's a bunch of great information about this initiative here: http://www.newyorklife.com/keepgoodgoing/celebratinggood

My dad taught me the importance of following your dreams. He's a west coaster by heart and about 10 years ago he was given the opportunity of a lifetime to move to San Francisco. It was amazing to see him fulfill his dreams and he always encourages me to fulfill mine! Life lessons like these are to be valued. Have you ever experienced a strong life lesson that changed your life for the better?

Can you even see me? Second to last row, far left

In 2006, I started my dream job with Jetblue airways. I was traveling the country and finally coming out of my shell. Yes, believe it or not, I was so incredibly shy prior to my airline career. Working as a flight attendant taught me how to talk to anyone and everyone. In each layover, I learned how to explore cities and new adventures on my own. I ate at restaurants by myself...albeit scared at first, eventually it was a sense of normalcy. I lived in two big cities that I never thought I would - New York and Boston. I really had it all.

Slowly but surely I started missing home, I decided to go part time to allow myself to visit home more and with my "free time" went back to school. While I was home more, I reconnected with a High school friend and we eventually started dating (Hi Jason!)

A short year later I decided to make a change. I submitted my resignation to my beloved career to focus on two big things:
1. Finishing my College education that I put off for so long
2. To spend more time with the one I loved!

Resigning was scary! However, I knew I eventually wanted a family and that I wanted a decent job (with less travel) to be able to raise that family. Flash forward to today; Jason and I are married, both finally finished our education and we have Mr. Wyatt on the way. Even though I was scared back in 2009 putting in my resignation, it was for the betterment of our lives.

Our first nursery project!

I mentioned before that we were gifted with a beautiful crib. It is a gorgeous dark wood (my favorite) and in pretty good condition - thanks, cousin! We also already had an awesome dresser passed down from my mom's old house. We just needed to do it stain the dresser and I stupidly said "easy peasy" in my previous nursery post
Last weekend we ran to Home Depot to pick up our supplies
For the stain, we made sure to get a semi-gloss to help with the inevitable "wipe downs".
We came home eager to get to work. We prepped the Dresser and got to work.
Bailey says Hi!
We started sanding and realized "Holy crap, this is going to last ALL weekend long." We just kept sanding. Fast forward to Sunday, and as we're talking to a friend we realized we might have gone a little crazy sanding. The point is to just get the polish off, not sand down to the actual wood. Good to know (on Friday night).
For two days after, I could literally not move my right arm. And I only sanded MAYBE two dresser draws. Jason did the whole dresser. Obviously I couldn't whine and grip to him.
We started back on the dresser this Saturday. My job was to stain the drawers and Jason took care of the dresser. The staining process was so easy (especially compared to the sanding process). It went a little something like this:
1. Apply one thin coat of stain
2. Watch an episode of Orange is the New Black
3. Apply second thin coat of stain
4. Watch an episode of Orange is the New Black
5. Apply third thin coat of stain
6. Watch an episode of Orange is the New Black
7. Make sure the stain is to your color liking
Our perfect color was there in three passes of the stain. Once we got to our desired liking, we let the dresser completely dry over night (and watched 2 more episodes of OITNB). In the morning, we went and picked up new draw pulls. Which in all honesty, is so sad how much draw pulls excite me.
And here's the finished product. Please excuse me as I do my little happy dance.
