How my perception of High School was ruined.

In 1999, I was just entering 9th grade. Which at my school was a small little campus about 5 miles from the "main" high school campus. We didn't really get the full high school experience until 10th grade. That same year, a movie came out that I was sure a completely accurate description of how amazing high school would be.
She's All That.

We watched it on Sunday night and it made me remember all the things I thought would happen in High School and never did.
For instance, the amazing rap battle about who's going to win Prom Queen.
I never once saw an awesome Rap battle in the courtyard of  my school. Also, my school didn't have a courtyard, but that's besides the point. It's been a dream of mine to witness a rap battle....doesn't it just seem so fun? I highly doubt that these kids would actually rap about high school drama, but I really wished this happened in my school. It didn't.
You know what we had in school that these kids didn't have? A dress code. Which meant we weren't allowed to wear shorts/dresses shorter than our middle finger or spaghetti strap tanks. Which of course we got away with by wearing a white tank under those spaghetti straps.  Tres Cool. We most certainly not allowed to wear this.
Or the midriffs Taylor's friend Chandler sported the whole flippin' movie.
Or, how about having an awesome school DJ/announcer. They had Usher for crying out loud.
Our morning announcements were done by our SGA. Which is not even comparable to Usher.
at all.
Which brings me to my last part.
What broke my heart the most.... there was never a synchronized dance at my prom.
I mean, this was my favorite part of the movie....and it really made me think these kinds of things were bound to happen in my Senior year.
Let. Down.

Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. - Valentine's Day "bouquet"

Valentine's day is a tad cheesy.  Don't get me wrong, I really do love to shower people with gifts, it's actually one of my favorite things to do. And, I love to celebrate our relationship. It's just something about gifting I don't love.
But, what's Valentine's day with a little bit of Cheesiness? In the wedding planning year, I saw an awesome bouquet o' booze floating around Pinterest and thought it would be super cute to have that sitting at the groomsmen's house as they got ready.

and then I thought
"Self, you're going to be really mad at yourself when the are wasted during the ceremony"
So, I nixed that idea and the boys were still drunk during the ceremony.
Fast forward a few months, and I decided I wanted to take care of our Valentine's day plans. Maybe put this pinterest pin to good use. This "bouquet" was super easy, and so quick to make....that I didn't take any pictures during the process. So here's a run down.
I basically just covered the styrofoam in tissue paper and made it "beer-like" then duct taped the mini liquor bottles/treats to the wooden dowels and stuck them into the styrofoam.
Wam, Bam, Thank you Ma'am
Jason loved it.
In keeping with the Valentine's day spirit,  I also gave my friend a little treat with a hand written poem.
That's all I've got today. My creative juices are done.
Hope y'all have a wonderful Valentine's day!

Just me and the Tanners. #nbd

Oh, hey there!
I don't know what's going on lately, but I just feel as though I have nothing exciting to report. Maybe it's all that balance....nope still haven't quite figured that out. It's a work in progress though.
My life is the same old, same old...and if I'm not running from one place to another, I'm probably trying to fall asleep to rev up for another day.
In actual fun news, We've been steadily planning our next vacation, which happens to fall on my birthday.
Yup, We are heading over to the the land of wine and Tanner Family.
When we're not playing fetch with Comet or catching Jesse and the Rippers local gigs, we'll be sharing stories about all the good times we used to have.
In addition to our mini-reunion,  Jason and I will be heading to Sonoma, Alcatraz, Google, and to see my favorite 5ohfamily somewhere along the way while enjoying everything SanFran has to offer.
You know how much I love vacation tips. So spill your favorite things to do in the City by the bay.

You see, what had happened was..

I had every intention on writing a blog post today.
I surf the facebooks, twitters and the net first thing in the morning! Then that's when it happened, I came across my two favorite girls singing my favorite song.
Which made me lose all motivation today. I just want to watch them over and over again!

Oh, happy day!
